A man in Mississippi, USA, lost more than 365 lbs (about 165 kg) after a doctor told him he was a "time bomb" and would not live long.

Nicholas Kraft weighed nearly 300 kg and underwent massive weight loss out of fear of death and motivation to live longer, according to US channel WDAM 7.

18 kg in the first month

Nicholas Kraft started his weight loss journey in the year 2019 when he managed to lose around 18 kg in the first month by just dieting.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, the 42-year-old said he had been overweight since childhood and hit "300 lbs (136 kg) in high school."

"Depression leads me to overeat, and I cant move normally," he says. According to him, his condition caused him body aches, knee pain, and shortness of breath, and he also couldnt "ride normal vehicles."

Time bomb

Kraft shared that he has stopped going to family events and travelling due to his weight, In 2019, Kraft was told by a doctor that he was a "time bomb" given his condition and would not live for more than 3 years.

Desiring to live longer, Kraft chose to change his eating habits. He did not follow a specialised diet for weight loss but focused on his calorie intake and cut out junk food.
